Continuing our visit we reach the epilogue, behind the pavilion, surrounded by luxuriant vegetation featuring an ancient camellia tree, we can see a precious representation of David by Donatello. Bearing backwards to the left, great bushes of boxus and viburnus accompany us to the Hortensia Avenue. Alongside, magnolia stellata trees, ginko biloba, espaliers of giant dahlias, spiree and beds of coloured peonies. The renaissance references and the inspiration of the Medici villas is strong in this avenue which extends beneath a thick pergola supported by substantial round terracotta columns. A century-old banksiana tree with its clear, scented flowers shades the walk which is bordered by flourishing, colourful hortensia blooms. At the end stands a fine old cast iron well.Photogallery
